Prof Dr Mazlina Mazlan
Dr. Mazlina Mazlan is a Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Universiti Malaya, where she obtained her MBBS degree in 1998. She completed her post-graduate training at the same institution before working as a rehabilitation medicine specialist at Hospital Kuala Lumpur for several years. In 2009, she joined Universiti Malaya as a lecturer and leads the Brain Injury Rehabilitation service at the University Malaya Medical Center since then. Prof Dr Mazlina pursued specialized fellowship training in Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation at Epworth Rehabilitation, Melbourne in 2014. Upon her return to UM, she expanded the clinical service to incorporate multiple combined clinics and services for individuals with acquired brain injury. This expansion encompasses vestibular rehabilitation, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, and neuromodulation services for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and other neurological conditions. Prof. Dr. Mazlina is actively engaged in various research projects and educational activities focused on neurorehabilitation including stroke. She has successfully secured multiple grants in the past, amounting to more than MYR 2.5 million to support her work in this field.
